Throughout semester two we have been looking at different issues as we try and develop our skills in persuasive writing. Our first essay asked the question ‘Are mobile phones a menace to society?’ the class produced some fantastic responses which was great to see. Although this issue is a concern in our society today, is there something that you feel passionate about? Is there an issue that you would fight for. I have recently been reading more about outworkers in Australia; these are people working from home,  18 hour days and barely earning $3 an hour. These people are working for some major fashion labels that we pay top dollar for yet they are barely getting enough money to survive. If you visit the fairwear website you can read about their stories. www.fairwear.org.au

What is something you are concerned about? Write about it let us know your thoughts you can even put in a link to a site that can tell us more.

Hello world

Welcome to our exciting new adventure. To make this a good learning tool it is expected that you will write lots of blog entries and comment (briefly) on some of your classmates’ blogs. You will be writing about the the things you are learning in English, as well as other subjects and out of school as well. How long you make your entries is up to you, but try to write at least once a week. You can write at school or from home and you can also read your classmates’ blogs either way. You will also get to read the blogs of other students all around the world as well. Good luck with your learning and reflection!
